- Explore pencil shading to create value
- Expand on watercolor techniques: wet-on-dry technique, use value by creating a graded wash
- Use facial proportions to draw a portrait
- Create a 12-hued color wheel
- Identify color groups: intermediate, analogous, complimentary
- Refine printmaking techniques (styrofoam printing)
- Expand on fiber arts: practice running, zigzag, and cross stitch
- Expand on clay construction techniques (slab and pinch)
- Use art elements to communicate ideas/moods
- Choose various materials to create art
- Compare and contrast art from various cultures in terms of motif or style
- Critique a work of art (self, peer, or formal artwork)
- Make connections between art and other subjects
